EP 35 Did God Design Women To Give Birth On Their Backs?

If you go on a walk through nature and happen upon an animal giving birth, what position will you find her in?  Will you find her upright, on her side, or on her back?  Well, she might be in a number of positions, but I can guarantee you that you won’t find her on her back with her legs in stirrups in the air with a bunch of people looking at her naked rear with bright lights shining on her, that’s for sure.  Granted, we’re not animals, but our labor processes are strikingly similar in many ways and there is a reason they birth the way they do.  Furthermore, if you leave a woman to labor by herself “in the wild” meaning you don’t have “experts” telling her what she should do and you remove a lifetime of conditioning, you will never find her on her back with her legs up in the air…ever.  So why is it we give birth the way we do in America?  In this episode we’re going to look at the history that got us here and we’re going to talk about whether or not that is how God intended for us to give birth that way.
