One of the absolute most consequential decisions you’ll make that will have a huge impact on your birth will be who you hire to care for you during pregnancy and attend your birth. That one person, unfortunately, has the power to make or break your birth plan. It is absolutely vital that you take your time, do you due diligence, and choose wisely. Inside of this episode, I dig into the different types of midwives so if you decide you would like to hire a midwife for your birth, you will understand the difference in their credentials. I talk about certified nurse-midwives (CNMs), certified professional midwives (CPMs), certified midwives (CMs), and lay midwives.
